Tom is a UK and European Patent Attorney who has experience working for a variety of different clients from small medtech start-ups to large multinational corporations. Tom has been involved in a number of different technologies including those directed towards medical devices, domestic appliances and industrial tools.
Tom has experience drafting, filing and prosecuting applications globally before a number of different patent offices. Tom has also been involved with multiple oppositions before the EPO acting for both patentees and opponents. He particularly enjoys gaining a thorough understanding of his clients’ technology in order to best protect their intellectual property. Additionally, Tom also has experience working on freedom-to-operate, and infringement and invalidity related matters. Tom has also spent time coordinating patent monitoring services both at the EPO and globally.
Tom joined J A Kemp in 2019 following nearly five years elsewhere in private practice. He is based in J A Kemp’s Oxford office, but also spends time in the London office.
