Thomas Compton

Tom is a European Patent Attorney based in the firm’s London office.

He studied Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, specialising in organic, medicinal and biological chemistry, during which he achieved a college scholarship and a Horne Prize for Physical Sciences. His masters project focused on the synthesis of new antibiotics using fragment-based drug discovery. Tom spent a summer placement working in process chemistry at GlaxoSmithKline where he was involved in the manufacture scale-up of a drug in clinical trials.

He joined J A Kemp as a trainee patent attorney in 2019.
