Sophie is an associate based in our Oxford office. Sophie’s work is focused on the pharmaceutical sector, but she has experience in a range of other chemical technologies including inorganic materials, alloys and coatings and polymer chemistry.
Although Sophie works with a wide range of clients, she has extensive expertise in advising start-ups and SMEs. Sophie particularly enjoys helping SMEs to build a patent portfolio and an overall patent prosecution strategy that will encourage future inward investment and growth. Her work in this area includes drafting new patent applications, prosecution of patent families in key territories, due diligence and freedom to operate matters.
Sophie joined J A Kemp in 2011, following completion of a DPhil in inorganic chemistry and a short period working in science funding. She became an associate in 2016.
