Celia is a partner based in our London office and head of the Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals Group. Celia’s experience spans a wide range of chemical technologies, focusing in particular on the pharmaceutical field, where her work includes small molecule medicinal chemistry, medical use inventions, combination therapies and pharmaceutical formulations. She also has expertise in the area of health foods and nutraceuticals derived from plants and their related uses in medicine.
Celia has a diverse client base which includes SMEs, universities and large corporations. Her major clients are based in the UK and the USA and she visits the USA regularly. Celia also handles work for clients in Australia, Canada, Continental Europe and Russia.
Celia’s work includes drafting and prosecuting patent applications. She has particular experience in managing global patent strategies and in coordinating and handling the filing and prosecution of extensive series of patent applications worldwide. Celia also acts in oppositions and appeals before the European Patent Office. She has advised on the defence of a client’s patent in litigation in Russia.
Celia joined J A Kemp in 1986 and became a partner in 1997. She is recommended by The Legal 500.
