Andrew first qualified and practised as a solicitor with a major London firm, specialising in contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters, before joining J A Kemp in 1991. He then additionally qualified as a European and UK Patent Attorney.
His background in chemistry and biochemistry supports his expertise in the specialist field of Supplementary Protection Certificates. Andrew supervises the firm's Registrable Transactions work and advises on inventorship and ownership issues.
Andrew's litigation experience has been applied in contentious matters in a wide range of mechanical, chemical and biotechnical matters, whether before the European Patent Office (at all levels up to the Enlarged Board), the UK Intellectual Property Office and Courts or overseas, and in providing freedom to operate, validity and infringement opinions.
