Alexandra joined J A Kemp as a trainee patent attorney in 2020 and is based in our London office.
Alexandra obtained her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Materials from Queen Mary University of London, gaining knowledge in a wide range of fields including tissue mechanics, computational modelling, surgical electronics, and tissue engineering. In her research project she developed a novel protocol for the use of computational modelling to link material microstructure to deformation mechanics. She also holds an MBChB (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery) from the University of Sheffield in which she achieved distinction in the Student Selected Components and was awarded the Knowelden Essay Prize. During her medical studies she delivered a national surgical conference and secured a highly regarded two-month elective placement in a plastic surgery department in Cape Town, South Africa.
