John has over 30 years' professional experience, including many years with overall responsibility for the European patents operation of a research-based US materials science company.  He now concentrates on patent work in the chemical and materials fields.  He has particular experience in advising clients on patent strategy and has handled many patent office oppositions.  He has acted on some high-profile conflicts, including UK High Court patent litigation.
